Assignment: Custom Shape Tools

Standards:

7) While preparing materials and assignments in this course, use a browser to access and download Internet resources by uniform resource locator (URL), hyperlink, or favorite/bookmark

10) Enhance documents by including graphic arts components such as borders and shaded elements, graphs and charts from other programs, watermarks, and imagery imported from technology devices and drives as well as sources retrieved from the Internet, including adding citations and/or captions for each element when appropriate.

11) Create, format, and edit documents suitable for print or electronic distribution, both four-color and two-color (black and white).

Together:
Open Photoshop

Go to Window>Essentials
Check Layers, Application Frame, Tools, Options

Go to File>New
Name: Your first and last name_Custom Shapes 1
Width: 11 inches (be sure it reads inches)
Height: 14 inches
Resolution: 200
Color Mode: RGB
Background contents: White

Click  OK
Go to File>Save As
Where: Your documents folder
Format: Photoshop

Go to the Move Tool and check Auto Select:Layer


Go to the Custom Shape Tool and add a custom shape

Resize it and color it

Move it

Repeat with a different custom shape and color

Create different custom shapes, colors and tools and apply these 6 layer styles. Be sure to make a separate layer for each layer style:

No layer styles
Drop Shadow
Bevel and Emboss
Gradient Overlay (in color)
Pattern Overlay
Stroke

Create a Google account
You will be using Google Drive and Gmail
